Maksutov Cassegrain
152mm (6-inch) Maksutov Cassegrain (inc Astro 5 mount)
Brand:
Astronomica
Information:

Back in stock - order now!

6" F/12.5 Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope with focusing via a moving primary mirror.

The mirror surfaces have very high reflectivity (95% +) and the telescope benefits from multi-coated meniscus lens, internal baffle rings and a 2" threaded opening to accept any SCT accessory fitted to the rear cell. The tube is painted off-white for ease of operation in the dark.

Maksutov-Cassegrains have better contrast than Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes, sometimes equalling the performance of refractors of similar aperture, because of the smaller secondary mirror obstruction in comparison to Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes.
These telescopes are excellent for both visual and photographic use.

SmartStar™ A-MC90 GPS GOTO telescope
Brand:
Ioptron
Information:

    Optics

Our SmartStar™ E-MC90 telescope system is the ideal choice for deep space viewing and astrophotography. This 90mm-diameter  Maksutov-Cassegrain has a focal length of 1200mm. This light weight, ultra-compact scope offers a great combination of power and transportability, and brings stargazing to a whole other level.

Dual Mount: Alt-Azimuth & German Equatorial – The Cube™

The SmartStar™-A-MC90 comes with our patented Dual Mount: Alt-Azimuth & German Equatorial, a.k.a. The Cube™. This compact mount design is probably the most functional and flexible unit on the market. Both axis motors are built into a small single unit which is universally compatible with all telescopes using a dove-tail connection. The mount can be level for Alt-Azimuth or locked into position for German Equatorial. In addition, there are no dead spots – so you can point your telescope to ANYWHERE above the horizon, whereas, other mounts block the telescope tube at certain points of rotation.

TESTIMONIALS
Hi. Richard,
It is a while since we spoke (so to speak). I thought I ought to let you know I finally got around to putting the 6" through its paces. I am more than satisfied with the performance of the lens, even though the conditions at the times I was viewing were not ideal.
